A 17 day luxury cruise on the Star Pride from Reykjavik to New York is upgrading to an unexpected adventure for 350 passengers and crew when the ship became disabled at 3.15pm off Massachusetts onBuzzard’s Bay losing all power.

The ship became stranded in Buzzards Bay between Woods Hole and Martha’s Vineyard at about 3:15 p.m. Friday, but at 5.30 pm engines were able to re-start.
The Coast Guard said in a tweet at about 4:40 p.m. that the “376-foot cruise ship Star Pride is anchored and holding” and that commercial tugboats were on the way. The cause of the loss of power was not immediately known.
No injuries are reported.
