Thai Airways arranges charter flights to bring stranded Thais out of Cairo

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) has arranged a special flight direct to Amman, Jordan, to bring stranded Thais at Cairo International Airport to Thailand.

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) has arranged a special flight direct to Amman, Jordan, to bring stranded Thais at Cairo International Airport to Thailand.

Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, THAI President, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the kingdom of Thailand has coordinated with THAI to support in transporting as earliest as possible the stranded Thais from Cairo International Airport in Egypt. However, due to the escalating situation and THAI’s review of flight safety to Cairo, the operational effectiveness at the airport, and other crucial factors, a direct flight to Cairo was not possible.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, therefore, has arranged for a charter flight to bring the stranded Thais from Cairo, Egypt, to Amman, Jordan. From Amman, Jordan, THAI will operate a special flight to bring the stranded Thais back to Thailand. THAI’s special flight follows:

OUTBOUND FROM BANGKOK TO AMMAN, JORDAN:
February 1, 2011
Flight: TG 8850
departing Bangkok at 0800 hours
arriving in Amman at 1300 hours (local time)

INBOUND FROM AMMAN, JORDAN, TO BANGKOK:
February 1, 2011
Flight: TG 8851
departing Amman at 1400 hours
arriving in Bangkok at 0245 hours (on February 2, 2011)
