“Being recertified for our efforts is a matter of great honor for the entire Mövenpick family. It encourages us to consistently relay the message about the importance of sustainability amongst our colleagues, guests and partners, and to continue building a solid future for the company and our community,” said Jibu Philip, Resident Engineer at the resort.

As the foremost hotel brand in the region, the resort remains committed in its efforts to embrace and promote sustainable business practices through values and principles that demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility towards the environment it operates in.

Mövenpick Yanbu’s key sustainable focus areas include

– Energy optimization strategies to minimize harm to the environment

– Training programs and raising best practice awareness amongst colleagues

– Communicating sustainability messages to guests

– A responsible procurement policy with implementation amongst suppliers

– The practice of transparent and ethical governance processes and,

– Engagement activities with local communities

Teams around the hotel eagerly contribute innovative and creative green ideas. Upcycling has become a new trend at the property, which helps reduce wastage. With the help of the Food & Beverage team, broken crockery has been made into a new showpiece that can be displayed as a gleaming table decoration. The Housekeeping department also rescued retired towels to create eco-friendly flowerpots for guest rooms.

Outdoors, the fantastic Gardening Teams are always seeking new ways to improve garden areas. Palm tree leaves are interwoven to form graceful natural arches along garden pathways while fans are made from wood that would otherwise be discarded.

As part of their ongoing environmental campaigns, Mövenpick Yanbu participates in Earth Hour celebrations annually by turning off all lights in public areas for an hour.
