Mauritius Tourism continues to be consolidated with latest figures issued confirm positive growth for the island’s tourism industry. Tourist arrivals for the month of August 2018 increased by 9.3% to reach 109,471 compared to 100,191 for August 2017.  For the period January to August 2018, tourist arrivals increased by 4.0% to attain 872,217 compared to 838,397 for the same period of last year.

Maintaining the visibility of Mauritius is now the preoccupation for Minister Anil Gayan, the island’s Minister of Tourism and his Ministry has embarked on the position of the Mauritian Culture in the center of their visibility campaign. Cultural events depicting every branch of the Mauritius Population is already being organized bringing to life the diversity that makes Mauritius strong culturally and now from November Mauritius is moving forward with their International Carnival which will be annual and set to attract foreign press from the island’s key tourism source market.
