The International Labour Organization Tribunal administration in Madrid yesterday put closure on two legal cases brought by two former UNWTO mkpara.

The allegation of misconduct due to actions by the current UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili was now confirmed in an appeal session by the tribunate.

This was after the new UNWTO administration under Secretary Zurab Pololikashvili took the helm of this organization in 2018. The complaints were filed by two senior UNWTO two staff in 2019 after being fired under questionable circumstances.

The Secretary-General was attending the WTTC Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia yesterday when he had to listen to the video delivering the verdict by the tribunal.

The result was a win for justice and expensive for UNWTO:

In Judgment No. 4577, 135th session it was decided:

  1. UNWTO shall pay the complainant 280,000 euros in material damages within 30 days from the public delivery of this judgment.
  2. All other claims are dismissed.

In Judgment No. 4576 in the 135th Session it was decided:

  1. UNWTO shall pay the complainant 200,000 euros in material damages within 30 days from the public delivery of this judgment.
  2. All other claims are dismissed.
