Indian Railways is taking steps to improve safety standards and services as it is also moving forward with providing faster trains.

This was stated in Delhi on February 26 by V. K. Yadav, who recently took over as chairman of the railway board.

He was speaking at 6th railway convention organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce on next generation railroad transport ecosystem.

He asked the industry to gear up to meet the growing demands on the infrastructure front. Both the officials and industry leaders called for greater interaction and regular dialogue so that the issues can be taken up and solved.

The “Made in India” concept is being implemented in the railways, which plays a major role in catering to tourists.

Some felt that there was need for roads and railways to be better linked, but senior officials said that this was already happening.

Yadav said that he was prepared to have longer discussions on any subject of concern to the industry.
