I have attended the Mekong Tourism Forum held at the end of June in Southeast Asia. The main topic of the forum was plastic pollution.

Countries with shores of the Mekong River prohibit throwing plastic into rivers and completely remove the plastic from the tourism sector.

During the forum, it is announced that many European and Asian countries will ban plastic usage in the next 20 years.

A new report released by WWF has revealed tourists cause a 40 percent surge in waste entering the Mediterranean Sea, 95 percent of which is plastic.

Tourists will not travel to dirty places for a holiday. If we want to keep tourism alive, we need to prevent environmental pollution.
