The body of 2-year-old Lane Graves was found today by an Orange County dive team at around 10 to 15 yards from the shore at the Walt Disney World resort not far from where he was snatched by an alligator in a lagoon on Tuesday night.

According to Sheriff Jerry Demings, it is likely that the boy drowned; his body had just a few bite marks. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Parents Matt and Melissa Graves from Elkhorn, Nebraska had tried to rescue the toddler from the alligator, but could not get the animal to release him.

The sheriff brought a priest with him when he broke the news to the parents who were relieved his body had been found, although they were clearly in extreme distress.
