CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand – Christchurch is launching a campaign to lure Australian visitors back to the earthquake-ravaged city, the same day New Zealanders are being urged to dive under their desks to get ready for another massive quake.

A tourism campaign, Christchurch Reimagined, was launched yesterday, telling Australians Christchurch ”has moved on” since last year’s deadly quake.

It is the same day the country holds a nationwide earthquake drill, with everyone encouraged to dive for cover.

Canterbury tourism bosses say the city is now one of the most creative and exciting cities in New Zealand.

Since the February 22 quake last year, the number of Australians visiting Canterbury has dropped by 43%.
