FORT WORTH, TX (August 21, 2008) – As observers of the summer Olympic Games know, Jamaica is now home to the fastest man and woman in the world. Starting this January, American Airlines will offer a fast new way to get to Jamaica – nonstop service from Chicago.

American, a founding member of the global oneworld(R) Alliance, will begin nonstop flights from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Montego Bay, Jamaica on January 31, 2009. Though American has long served Montego Bay, it will be the airline’s first-ever nonstop flight there from Chicago.

American will operate one nonstop flight five days a week between Chicago and Montego Bay, using Boeing 757 aircraft configured with 22 seats in First Class and 166 seats in the Main Cabin. Convenient connecting service in Chicago will make Montego Bay easily accessible from other cities as well.

The new Chicago nonstop is part of an expansion of American Airlines flights to Montego Bay that will begin in early November. On November 2, American will increase its schedule between Miami and Montego Bay from two daily nonstop flights to three. On the same date, American will also increase its service between Dallas/Fort Worth and Montego Bay from one weekly flight to five weekly, and then to daily service in mid-December.

American also serves Montego Bay from New York JFK. In addition, American operates service to Kingston, Jamaica with flights from both Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The Fort Lauderdale-Kingston service began earlier this year.
